Health and Safety Plan

To open Fellowship Christian High School for the 2020-2021 academic year as scheduled, a team of faculty and staff, together with our school board, has developed a comprehensive plan that includes cleaning and disinfecting all physical spaces and high-touch areas on our campus; safety guidelines for students, staff, faculty, and visitors; modification to schedules; and modification to physical spaces. This letter elaborates on each of these important aspects of our plan below.

Entering school building:

  • Staff/students/parents must sign an agreement to do home self-screening. Do not send your student to school nor come to campus yourself if you or your student is exhibiting any of the symptoms listed here:


  • Temperature will be scanned before entering the building (temp must be below 100.4ºF).

  • Students must have a facemask on to enter the building (disposable masks will be available).

Guest, Parents and Visitors:

  • All guests, parents, and visitors are required to call the school upon arrival.

  • All guests, parents, and visitors are required to wear a mask.

  • All guests, parents, and visitors are required to complete a health screening form.

  • All parents are not permitted to enter the building during drop-off or pick-up.

In the facility:

  • Common areas including the lunch room will be cleaned and sanitized by staff before/after use.

  • Daily disinfection of commonly used surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, etc.) and bathrooms.

  • Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer available in common areas.

  • Classroom and hallway doors will be open to allow ventilation and airflow.

  • Water fountains will not be available for students, staff, parents, and guests.

  • Students will bring their own water bottles to be used throughout the day.

In the classroom:

  • Upon entering a classroom, hand sanitizer will be available for all students.

  • Students will be instructed not to share items with their classmates.

  • All classrooms will have disinfecting supplies: gloves, masks, disinfecting wipes, disinfectant spray, paper towels.

  • Seating will be 6 feet apart.

  • Classrooms will be disinfected in between classes.

  • Masks will be worn when physical distancing cannot be achieved (students and teachers) in compliance with established classroom physical distancing guidelines.

  • Students may only handle their own learning materials (pens, pencils, calculators, computers, etc.).


Physical education:

  • Activities to be outside as much as possible.

  • Students will be required to wear facemasks during activities if physical distancing cannot be achieved.

  • All sport/recreational equipment will be cleaned and sanitized before and after usage.


  • Chapel service will continue to be held with physical distancing in place (or mask). 

  • Chapel seating will be sanitized (as possible) following usage.

Lunch Room:

  • There will be NO self-service food or beverage distribution. (No snack shop.)

  • Students/parents are encouraged to pack all lunches individually.

  • All meals, snacks, and beverages must be individually packaged. NO sharing!!

  • Lunch seating will provide physical distancing.

  • Individual water bottles/or disposable water bottles are required. 

Computers/Equipments/Personal Items:

  • All school provided computers/equipment will be maintained with surface cleaning between every use.

  • All students are required to provide their own computer.

  • Students can only use equipment and learning materials that have been issued/belong to them.

  • All personal items brought to school by students/staff must be disinfected prior to be used and after.

  • No personal items may be shared (including textbooks). All personal belongings should be labeled with the student's name.

Physical Distancing Exposure Reminder:

  • Reminders will be displayed in the building: classrooms, hallway, bathrooms and offices.

  • Stay 6 feet apart when possible.

  • Students will be instructed on proper hygiene (handwashing for 20 seconds, fully cover coughs and sneezes, correct usage of masks, etc.).

  • As a reminder, masks should be worn when in the hallways, in between classes, to the bathroom or lockers, to the main office, and for dismissal to the school buses. 

  • It is recommended by our state that anyone who has traveled out of the country or to a hotspot should self-quarantine at home for 10 days with no symptoms before returning back to school. The list may be found here:

  • Any student who exhibits a temperature greater than or equal to 100.4ºF will be isolated and rechecked after ten minutes. If the elevated temperature persists, the student will remain isolated until a parent is reached to take the student home. Any staff who exhibits a persistent elevated temperature greater than or equal to 100.4ºF will be asked to isolate himself or herself and leave campus immediately.

  • Masks (disposable) will be available to all students/teachers to be used during the day.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available in the hallways and outside the office.

COVID-19 Infection

  • Any person, student, staff, or visitor who contracts COVID-19 is to be quarantined at home for 7-10 days as per the CDC guidelines and contact their primary doctor. A negative COVID-19 test is required before returning to school.

  • Any student exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be immediately isolated and sent home. The student will be required to be quarantined for 7-10 days and follow CDC guidelines and contact their primary doctor.

  • Should a student or staff member of the school be exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID-19 they will be asked to quarantine as per the contact tracing guidelines of the CDC and return after the 7-10 days with NO symptoms.
